First Peoples WorkshopConnecting Learning and Instruction in Olathe (CLIO): We the People – In Search of a More Perfect Union is a professional development program designed to develop, implement, and strengthen the program to teach traditional American history in the Olathe Public Schools.  CLIO will provide traditional American history professional development for twenty 5th-12th grade teachers through colloquia, professional development sessions, lecture series, and travel research workshops.  Major partners for CLIO include the University of Kansas, the National Archives and Records Administration, the Kansas State Historical Society, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the National Indian Law Library, and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University.

CLIO is sponsored by a Teaching American History grant funded by the Department of Eduction.
